Jodl Packaging - Who we are
Jodl Verpackungen GmbH is an innovative, future-oriented family business based in Lenzing, Upper Austria . As a leading producer and with a continuously expanding product range, we now draw on over 50 years of experience in the development, manufacture and distribution of pre-made bags and packaging rolls. In doing so, we always focus on highest quality, customer orientation and delivery reliability.
History
1970
The foundation as a sole proprietorship under the name "Polycord" in Vöcklabruck lays the foundation for today's company.
At that time, the company produced mainly grapevine ribbons for winegrowers, as well as paper bags for the surrounding bakeries.
1980
Due to the ongoing product ideas and the high customer orientation, the company quickly develops into a recognized partner for the bread and baked goods industry in the first ten years. In addition, the company is transformed into a limited liability company.
1982
The production of QVS Hornig is taken over. In the course of this, 4 machines are taken over.
1985
The building of the former joinery Gober is taken over and a move to the location Vöcklabruck takes place.
1986
The way for the product Top Recycle is paved by the takeover of the equipment of the company Koreska from Vienna.
1989
The 2nd generation Alfred and Herbert Jodl take over the management of the company.
1992
With the takeover of Olbersdorfer Kunststoff GmbH, the foundation stone is laid for the idea of producing films independently. In 2001, Olbersdorfer Kunststoff GmbH is closed and its property is sold.
1993
The product Top Recycle receives the award of the Austrian Environmental Prize. The degradable, compostable, rotting and reusable meat paper is coated with degradable vegetable fats instead of kerosenes.
1998
The relocation of the main site to Lenzing will create an internationally recognized, industrial production site.
1998
The bag production of Wolff Walsrode AG is taken over.
1998
In view of the high, steadily increasing number of customer inquiries from France, a 100% subsidiary is founded in Lyon under the name "Austrobags".
The locally based sales team enables the French market to be served more quickly and effectively.
1998
The acquisition of a forest plot for the purpose of CO2 compensation is initiated.
2010
The company Wipf AG discontinues the branch in Marchtrenk. This is followed by the takeover of customers, employees, machines and new technologies and integration at the Lenzing site.
2013
Within the last ten years, Jodl has developed into a reliable partner for well-known
food producers throughout Europe.
2022
A generation change takes place with the new managing directors Jürgen Jodl and Christoph Jodl.
2023
Through an extension, the production areas on the first floor are expanded by approx. 860m2, and new social rooms on the 1st floor with approx. 860m2 are provided for the employees. In addition, more office space could be created by the extension. On the 2nd floor a retention sample warehouse is created.

Certifications
Proper hygienic conditions in the company, absolute traceability and certified raw materials form only a small part of our extensive safety program.
Our company is certified according to the guidelines of the quality management system ISO 9001:2015, according to the global guidelines of packaging and packaging materials BRC, according to the HACCP standards, as well as FSC® (FSC-C135485).
